Catch Light?
Catch light or catchlight is a photography term used to describe either the specular highlight in a subject's eye from a light source, or the light source itself. They are also referred to as eye lights or Obies, the latter a reference to Merle Oberon, who was frequently lit using this technique. A catch light may be an artifact of the lighting method, or have been purposely engineered to add a glint or "spark" to a subject's eye during photography. This technique is useful in both still and motion picture photography. Adding a catch light can help draw attention to the subject's eyes, which may otherwise get lost among other elements in the scene.
I think this is a close shot at Catch Light.......

AH Inspiring!
Over the past few weeks, I have been looking at numerous Photographer's web sites, and blogs! Some are excellent, and some are sub par, and some really stand out! I came across Tony Hoffer's http://hofferphotography.com website about a month a go, and was amazed by his style, and photo's he really does stand out!
The image above is ah inspiring, nice bokeh, and colors that go BAM! Images like this one are ones I strive personally to recreate. There is always someone better, and Tony sets the bar for other photographers to try and obtain!

The Next Tool!
So this is what I will be buying on my next set of days off, a Canon Speedlite 580EX II. I am excited to do some real flash photography. The stock flash on my Camera - the Canon 30D, is horrible, it is to close to the lens creating harsh shadows. Obviously a add to a budget, or middle of the road SLR so people will actually buy them. With the 580EX II your lighting possibilities are endless! Bounce, diffuse, and off Camera to name a few.

Club Photography......WHAT!?
So I was browsing some forums, surprise, surprise, when I came across a forum called Club Photography. I was baffled. I never heard of such a thing, and of course being in a small city you wouldn't see something like this here, or maybe i don't get out enough..probably the second one. The pictures are very inspiring they are full of color, and ooze energy that the music, and people are giving off... here is a sample.
Here it is.........
So....thought I would start my own photography/personal blog where I add photo's and talk about my personal life..which may be on the rather boring side, but it would be nice to get some feed back on some of my Photo's!
I have always enjoyed photography, even when I was younger my dad had a Canon SLR, and I remember messing around with it, but didn't take many pictures as film and processing was expensive. When Jr. High came around the photography part of industrial arts was one of my favorite classes, using a full manual camera with film, then processing your film, and then into pictures was amazing! I wouldn't buy my own SLR until 10 years later, and bought my first Digital Single Lens Reflex 4 years ago!
Now it is time to take my Hobby to the next level, maybe make money at something I like to do. I know I still have lots to learn, but you have to start somewhere, and this is the beginning.....
